H.H. Maharaja Shri Brijendra Sawai Ram Singhji Bahadur Jang, Maharaja of Bharatpur. b. at Lohagarh, Bharatpur, 21st September 1873, second son of H.H. Maharaja Shri Brijendra Sawai Sir Jaswant Singhji Bahadur Jang, Maharaja of Bharatpur, GCSI, by his second wife, Maharani Sri Darya Kaurji Maji Sahiba [Dadiji Jaginewali], educ. Mayo Coll., Ajmer. Succeeded on the death of his father, 12th December 1893. Ascended the gadi, at the Jawahar Burj, Lohagarh, Bharatpur, 25th December 1893. In consequence of his intemperae habits, he was deprived of his administrative powers in 1895. The administration was conducted, first by the Diwan wih the assistance of a consultative council, and later by a council under the general control of the Political Agent. His ruling powers were suspended by the GOI on 10th August 1900, following the death of one of his personal servants. Deposed after an enquiry established his complicity in the murder, 27th August 1900. Exiled to Agra. Rcvd. the KIH silver medal (1877). m. (first) at Lohagarh, Bharatpur, 17th April 1884, H.H. Maharani Sri Kishan Kaurji Sahiba, a daughter of a zamindar of Tepera, in the Aligarh district, UP. m. (second) H.H. Maharani Sri Maaji Giriraj Kaurji Sahiba, CI (1.1.1918) (d. at Lohagarh, Bharatpur, 24th August 1922), Regent for her son from 27th August 1900 to 28th November 1918, rcvd: Delhi Durbar gold medals (1903 and 1911), daughter of a Zamindar of Deoli, in Bharatpur state. He d. in exile at Agra, September 1929, having had issue, one son. |

Maharajadhiraj Jam Shri Ranmalsinhji Sataji Jadeja [Ranmalji Sahib], Jam Sahib of Nawanagar, by his second wife, H.H. Rani Shri Soniba Kunverba Sahiba, educ. privately. Succeeded on the death of his father, 22nd February 1852. Granted a permanent salute of 11-guns 1866. Attended the Imperial Delhi at Durbar and was granted a personal salute of 15-guns ad the personal title of Maharaja, 1st January 1877. Rcvd: Prince of Wales's gold medal (1875), and KIH gold medal (1877). |
